Add custom assistants, and give them your own personality. You can add your favorite teacher, your partner, guru, friend, or even yourself.
Add your (free) Wolfram Alpha API key to allow Chitty assistants to consult Wolfram Alpha. Using Wolfram Alpha, your assistants can do more complicated math and look up facts about the world.
You can allow Chitty to run shell commands on your computer. This way, you can ask your assistant to open apps, change files, or even shut down your computer.
With the Pinecone integration you can ask assistants to remember tidbits, and look them up afterwards. If you are technically inclined, you can also point Chitty to an existing Pinecone index to look up embeddings.

What's an OpenAI API key? Where do I find it?

Under the hood, Chitty uses ChatGPT, which is a chat AI created by OpenAI. To use ChatGPT, you need an OpenAI API key. You can get one for free by signing up here: https://platform.openai.com/signup. After you have signed up, you can see your API key here: https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys.

What data are you saving?

The messages you send and assistants you create never pass our servers. All messages are sent directly to OpenAI, and all assistants are stored locally on your device.

What should I be aware of when creating a new assistant?

When you write your prompt for the new assistant, it's a good idea to start with the words: "You are". As an example, the Abraham Lincoln assistant is initialized with the words: "You are Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States of America."

Why do the assistants sometimes break character?

ChatGPT is a very powerful AI, but it's not comfortable talking about all topics, and it also doesn't want to mislead its users. As a result, it somestimes may break character. We're still trying out to engineer the prompts in a good way, to make the assistants more consistent.

Collection of Personal Information

Chitty does not collect any personal information from its users. We do not require users to create an account, nor do we request any personally identifiable information (e.g., name, email address, phone number) from our users.

Collection of Non-Personal Information

Chitty has access to non-personal information about device types, app-opens, and similar information provided by Apple. None of this information can be traced back to individual users.

Use of the OpenAI API

Chitty sends user messages directly to the OpenAI API to provide its core service. Chitty does not store or retain any such data.

Changes to the Privacy Policy
